Of course, you all know I´m Type A. So, while this move was daunting, plus a full year of legit organizing, I still thought we were prepared. Obviously, we made it so we were prepared enough but boy have we found some strange mistakes as we´re settling in.

First off, where the hell are Gary´s dress shoes? He has one suit, a dress shirt and tie. We both remember packing the shoes but where are they? Now, he hopes never to need them but still…where are they? If he ever does, we hope no one judges him too harshly for wearing a beautiful suit with his grody flip-flops.

On the flip side, we have five sets of tweezers. I didn´t even know we owned five sets of tweezers. As Gary said, why would any couple own more than double the needed sets of tweezers, let alone pack them when we were scrimping to save every inch of space? Bizarre.

A terrace garden on Altea´s Main Street. We think this would be Kenzi´s version of a Spanish terrace too!
So many beautiful Spanish doors everywhere.

This was our best week yet. We´re both over our sinus infections. We met our Spanish tutor, Vasi, in person for the first time over tapas at a restaurant that´s just a 5-minute walk from the apartment. That´s a great find!

Meet the most patient Spanish tutor in the world!

We bought a car (hopefully picking it up Monday) and´ll take our first road trip next week (more on that later.) We enjoyed an afternoon yesterday just walking in Altea and last night we ate at a restaurant Vasi recommended.

Absolutely loved this pirate hideaway just 8 minute walk from the apartment.
The view walking home after dinner.

It was fantastic. No more than 10-12 tables in a wonderful little hideaway in the old town. It will definitely make the “for our visitors list.’

Here are just a few sights from our walk around town yesterday.

Calpe Rock (Penon de Ifach) in the distance. A good hike for those in better shape than we are.
Altea´s beaches are white stone. We love it but it will demand chairs come summer.

We miss everyone and often talk about how excited we are to share this or that discovery when you visit!
